My friends server, witch my ubb was hosted on asked me one of the most stupid things today -,-

him: hey i see your bbs is no longer on the server, can i get the files
me: www.infopop.com
him: no i dont want to pay, just send me your bbs so i dont have to hack it all myself
me: no, buy it
him: i lost my info for the members area
me: im not giving you a copy....

i thought i was done with the deal untill....

him: ok ok ok, i set up my own ubb, can you hack it for me?
me: link
him: *links*
me: a brand new 6.05 aftershock?
him: ya....
me: a good verson....


after witch i reported him. ;/ its funny how many networks that host sites ask there hosted sites for ubbs. www.dbice.com runs a warez, i know cause he asked me to install a 6.05 after his 5.45 messed up, and thats a new install he has running and u cant see the copywrite . this kinda stuff pisses me off. id thought i share

Yeah there will always be losers like that, that are to cheap to pay, and the expect it all to be done for them just b/c they host you or something. Well just keep reporting them, they'll get what they deserve >=D.

yes these people are really starting to piss me off , its not fair that i pay for a renew every year and i paid for ubb and they rip it off people or get it form the local warez site or irc

Yeah I know, it's bull, but it's pretty easy to tell who has warez and who doesn't most of the time.

well there are the people that just dont know and the ones that just dont care, i remeber way back when, when i asked the admin of one of the big forums i used to post on that scence went down,when i asked in a topic about how i could get the forum scripts i got a download link, i installed 5.45 i think, came over to dev, found out i was illegally using the software, saved up for god knows how long and finnaly got enof for ubb but thats life i guess

Well that person is a loser. At least try make it obvious your not using a warez version.

Of course you may be able to tell who is running Warez, but you can't be too sure. I often got accused of Warez because I installed a UBB 6.04d and I never upgraded to 6.05 because I didn't want to lose hacks. It was quite irritating to be accused of having a warez UBB for that reason.

ZoneX try using Beyond Compare. It's a easy way to upgrade without loosing your hacks.

Um...I go to your forums and i'm a member and everything i remember seeing at the bottom:

But above you clain to have 6.04d..wtf?

I think it's renamed. I'm not sure though.

I think he got accused BEFORE he upgraded to 6.1.0.1

Hmm..But 6.1.0.3 was out after Nov 30 when he posted he was using 6.04d. Anyway, it's none of my business.
